Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY) has implemented the Compulsory Registration Scheme for Plotters, hence the plotters are mandatory to be tested and registered under the Bureau of Indian Standards as per IS 13252 (Part 1): 2010.

All the importers and manufacturers of Plotters are required to get BIS Registration from the Bureau of Indian Standards. Without BIS Registration the manufacturers and importers are not allowed to sell or launch their products in India.
